Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Exhibit Reminds Visitors of Tragic Events from Sept. 11, 2001

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Exhibit has recently opened in Livingston, Tangipahoa, Louisiana. The exhibit, which is a tribute to the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001, features artifacts, photos, and videos from the tragic event that shook the world.

The exhibit is named after Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who lost his life while saving others during the attacks. Siller, who was off-duty at the time, ran from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center with 60 pounds of gear on his back. He perished along with 342 of his fellow firefighters.

The Tunnel to Towers exhibit features several artifacts, including steel beams from the World Trade Center, an American flag that was flown over Ground Zero, and a steel beam that was salvaged from the Pentagon. These artifacts serve as a reminder of the devastating loss of life and the heroic actions of first responders on that fateful day.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Exhibit, which travels from place to place, is contained within the cargo area of a semi-truck. The truck is adorned with colorful decorations and accommodates a range of items retrieved from the World Trade Center following the devastating attack on the United States on September 11, 2001. Additionally, the exhibit features informative materials and videos that serve to recount the events of that fateful day.

The exhibit is free to the public and open every day until May 2, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Amvets Post 68 in Livingston, Tangipahoa. Visitors are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing while inside the exhibit.

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Exhibit serves as a powerful reminder of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who risked their lives to save others. It is a must-see for anyone who wants to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of that day and to show their support for those who continue to serve and protect our communities.
