The Tunnel to Tower Foundation Pays Off Mortgage for Late Police Officer Vincent Parks' Family

The Tunnel to Tower Foundation, has generously paid off the mortgage for the family of a late Jonesboro police officer, Patrolman Vincent Parks. The Tunnel to Tower Foundation, established in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, aims to support the families of fallen first responders and military members. In a recent press release, the foundation announced that they had provided over 30 mortgage payoffs to families across the country on Independence Day.

On July 17, 2022, tragedy struck when Patrolman Vincent Parks, only 38 years old and serving as a patrolman for just one month, collapsed while performing exercises at the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy within Camp Robinson. His unexpected passing left behind his wife, Christina, and their daughter, who reside in Jonesboro.

Recognizing Patrolman Parks' dedication and sacrifice, the Tunnel to Tower Foundation stepped in to alleviate the family's financial burden. Through their Fallen First Responder Home Program, which assists families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty or due to 9/11-related illnesses, the foundation paid off the Parks family's mortgage. Trevor Tamsen, a spokesperson for the foundation, confirmed that the family now owns their home outright.

Patrolman Parks was posthumously awarded a Medal of Honor for his service to the Jonesboro community. Described as someone with a strong desire to give back, he joined the Jonesboro Police Department in 2022 to make a positive difference in his community.
