The Origins of Pascua Florida
On April 2, 1513, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León first set foot on Florida’s shores. Inspired by the lush beauty and the Easter season in Spain—known as "Pascua Florida" (Festival of Flowers)—he named this newly discovered land "La Florida." 🌸🌿 The name perfectly reflects the state's abundance of wildflowers, greenery, and stunning natural wonders.
