Do You Take Time to Rest?

by Ernest Van Glahn

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to overlook one of the most important aspects of well-being: rest. But let’s pause for a moment and ask ourselves — are we truly making space to recharge?

Be honest:

  • Every day — I make rest a priority.

  • Rarely ever — I’m always on the go.

No matter where you fall on this spectrum, it’s important to remember one thing: rest isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. 🧘‍♀️

When you intentionally set aside time to rest, you’re doing more than just taking a break. You’re giving your mind and body a chance to reset. Rest can come in many forms — a quiet walk, deep breathing exercises, reading a book, or simply sitting in silence for a few minutes. Even just 10 minutes of stillness can improve focus, boost creativity, and prevent burnout.

Think of yourself as a cup. If you keep pouring out energy without refilling, eventually, you’ll run dry. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself — physically, mentally, and emotionally — allows you to show up as your best self in every aspect of life.

So today, I encourage you to give yourself permission to rest. Set aside a few moments to unwind, breathe, and reset. Your well-being is worth it. 💛

Drop a 💤 in the comments if you’re committing to making space for rest this week! Let’s inspire each other to slow down and prioritize self-care. 🌿
