Assumption of Our Mary

Today, Catholics around the world celebrate one of the most beautiful feasts of the Church—the day when Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into heaven.

This feast is more than a celebration of Mary’s glory—it’s a sign of hope for us. Just as Mary now shares in the fullness of life with God, we too are called to eternal life through Christ.

For Catholics, August 15 is a Holy Day of Obligation, meaning we are called to attend Mass in honor of this great mystery. Around the world, the day is marked with processions, prayers, and joyful gatherings.
