A New Beginning: Honoring Sgt. Matthew Hannon with a Forever Home

by Ernest Van Glahn

Today is a day filled with hope, resilience, and gratitude — a day that reminds us of the strength of the human spirit and the power of community.

We are deeply honored to welcome U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Matthew Hannon to his mortgage-free forever home in the Let Us Do Good Village, a place built on the foundation of service, support, and love.

Sgt. Hannon’s journey is a testament to the bravery and commitment our nation's heroes embody. He answered the call to serve at just 17 years old, dedicating himself fully to protecting our freedoms through multiple deployments. While his service came with sacrifice and the lasting impact of invisible wounds, today marks a powerful new chapter — one filled with healing, independence, and the warmth of community.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Sgt. Hannon now has a home tailored to his needs — a space designed not only for comfort but also for recovery and renewed strength.

“It’s only with Tunnel to Towers’ help that I’ll be able to live on my own again,” Sgt. Hannon shared.

His words are a reminder that no hero should ever feel forgotten. As Sgt. Hannon settles into this next phase of life, we stand beside him — and all those who have worn the uniform — with unwavering respect and appreciation.

🏡✨ This home is more than a house. It’s a symbol of honor, of sacrifice recognized, and of a nation that cares.

Let us never forget our duty to those who have given so much. Join the mission. Support the cause. And help build more homes for America’s bravest.
